LC Phone Common Issues: Why Itโ€™s Not Working & How to Fix It

LC Phone Common Issues Why Itโ€™s Not Working & How to Fix It

If your LC Phone has ever stopped ringing, sent calls to the wrong place, or randomly refused to cooperate, you’re not alone. The LeadConnector phone system is powerful, but when something goes wrong, it can feel like everything in your business comes to a halt.

The good news? Most of these issues are caused by small settings that are easy to fix once you know where to look. In this guide, you’ll get simple, real-world solutions to the 10 most common LC Phone problems, written in plain English, so anyone can follow them and get their phone system working again.

What Makes LC Phone Stop Working

LC Phone works great until it doesn’t. Most problems come from settings that don’t play nice together, weird call paths, or connections that break.

Think of it like plumbing. One wrong connection and nothing flows right.

Sometimes a tiny change can throw the whole system off. A feature might be turned on in one place and off in another, or the network simply isn’t strong enough to keep calls moving smoothly.

And when one part misbehaves, the effects can stack quickly, calls fail, audio cuts out, or the system gets confused about where to send things. The good news is that most issues come down to small fixes once the root cause is found.

The 10 Problems You’ll Actually Run Into

1. Your Calls Are Going Nowhere

What’s happening: People call but nobody picks up. Or the wrong person gets the call.

Causes:

  • You forwarded calls to the wrong number
  • Your ring groups aren’t actually ringing
  • The call menu (IVR) is sending people down the wrong path

How to Fix:

  • Go to Settings > Phone Numbers > Call Routing. Check if the forwarding number is right.
  • Using ring groups? Remove the Business Phone Number from your settings. Sounds weird, but it works.
  • Your call menu acting up? Look under Automations > Workflows and make sure calls go where you want them.

2. Your App Won’t Ring

What’s happening: Calls come in but your LeadConnector app stays silent.

Causes:

  • Notifications are turned off
  • Your phone is killing the app to save battery
  • Nobody told the system who should get the call

How to Fix:

  • Make sure the number has someone assigned in Settings > Team > User Profile.
  • Check your phone settings (not the app). Turn on notifications for LeadConnector.
  • Let the app run in the background. Most phones try to close apps to save power.
  • Still nothing? Close the app completely and open it again.

3. Call Forwarding Goes to the Wrong Place

What’s happening: You set up forwarding but calls end up somewhere random.

Causes:

  • The forwarding number is wrong or disconnected
  • You’ve got too many routing rules fighting each other
  • Your phone company is blocking forwarded calls

How to Fix:

  • Settings > Phone Numbers > Forwarding. Double-check that number.
  • Delete extra Call Routing Rules under Phone Settings. Sometimes less is more.
  • Try forwarding to a different number. Your carrier might be the problem.

4. Voicemail Picks Up Too Fast

  • What’s happening: Phone barely rings before it dumps callers into voicemail.
  • Causes:
  • Timeout is set too short (like 10 seconds instead of 30)
  • Your voicemail settings are overriding everything else
  • Ring groups don’t have enough time to work

How to Fix:

  • Settings > Phone Numbers > Call Settings. Bump up that timeout.
  • Check Team > User Settings > Voicemail Configuration for anything weird.
  • Using ring groups? Take the Business Phone Number out of settings.

5. Wrong Number Shows When You Call Out

What’s happening: You call someone and they see a different number than expected.

Causes:

  • Your default outbound number is wrong
  • User phone numbers aren’t set up right

How to Fix:

  • Settings > Business Profile. Check what number is set as default.
  • Go to Settings > Team > User Profile and make sure each person has the right number assigned.

6. Texts Won’t Send or Come Through

What’s happening: Messages just disappear. Sent or received, doesn’t matter.

Causes:

  • A2P 10DLC registration isn’t done (big deal for U.S. numbers)
  • Twilio thinks you’re spam
  • Phone number format is wrong

How to Fix:

  • Settings > Compliance > A2P Registration. Make sure that’s complete.
  • Stop sending links and sales stuff in every message. Carriers hate that.
  • Format numbers right: +1XXXXXXXXXX for U.S. numbers (that’s the E.164 format).

7. Voicemails Vanish

What’s happening: People leave voicemails but you can’t find them in GoHighLevel.

Causes:

  • Voicemail is getting saved on a forwarded number instead
  • Voicemail isn’t turned on in GoHighLevel

How to Fix:

  • Turn off call forwarding if you want voicemail in GoHighLevel.
  • Settings > Team > User Profile > Voicemail Settings. Make sure it’s enabled.

8. Call History Is Missing

What’s happening: The app shows no record of your calls.

Causes:

  • App and GoHighLevel aren’t syncing
  • Your phone’s storage is full or corrupted

How to Fix:

  • Log out of LeadConnector and log back in.
  • Clear the app’s cache and storage in your phone settings.
  • Nuclear option: delete the app and download it fresh.

9. Browser Calling Doesn’t Work

What’s happening: You click to call from your computer and nothing happens.

Causes:

  • Browser permissions are blocked
  • Pop-ups are disabled
  • Your internet connection is flaky

How to Fix:

  • Allow microphone access when the browser asks.
  • Turn on pop-ups for GoHighLevel (I know, I know, but you need them here).
  • Check your internet. Video calls need decent speed.

10. International Numbers Won’t Connect

What’s happening: Calls to other countries fail or cost a fortune.

Causes:

  • International calling isn’t enabled
  • You forgot the country code
  • Your plan doesn’t cover that country

How to Fix:

  • Contact GoHighLevel support to enable international calling.
  • Always use the country code (+44 for UK, +91 for India, etc.).
  • Check if your plan actually covers the country you’re calling.

Make Your Phone System Smarter

GoHighLevel has a Workflow Builder that can save you tons of time. Here’s what actually works:

Missed call texts: Someone misses your call? System texts them automatically.

Call menus: Let people press buttons to reach the right department.

After-hours routing: Send calls to voicemail or a different number when you’re closed.

Real example: A dentist office sends “Thanks for calling! We’ll call you back when we open at 9 AM” for after-hours calls. Patients stop worrying they were ignored.

Why Centripe Does This Better

Centripe makes your phone system simple and stress-free by handling all the complicated stuff automatically.

Calls go to the right person without you setting up complicated rules, voicemails are turned into easy-to-read text, and international calling works right away with no surprises.

Your phone actually rings every time because Centripe uses stronger, more reliable notification technology.

And if something ever goes wrong, the system fixes most issues by itself before you even notice. In short, Centripe just works, so you don’t have to.

Don’t Let Phone Problems Kill Your Business

LC Phone works fine when everything’s configured right. But one wrong setting and you’re missing calls from paying customers.

Use these fixes when things break. Check your routing, make sure numbers are assigned, and keep the app updated.

Most issues come down to settings fighting each other. Remove what you don’t need. Keep it simple.

Your phone system should work for you, not the other way around.
